Adult Ministry: Ridge Singles Connection
 Ridge Singles Connection,
is the place for “Baby Boomer” single adults to connect for new friendships, deeper relationships, Bible study, spiritual growth and worship. Our members some from all sorts of occupations and life situations—secretaries, nurses, retired missionaries, accountants, teachers, insurance agents, grant managers, business owners, federal employees, divorced, widowed, never married.
Ridge Singles Connection members enjoy all kinds of activities, from spectator sports to picnics to shopping and travel. Sunday mornings you’ll find us in Room 250 at 10:45 for coffee, doughnuts, prayer requests and a time of Bible study that is never dull. Afterwards we go somewhere for lunch together.
Once a month Ridge Singles Connection meets on a Friday night for our “Camp David” time. “Camp David” is named for our class teacher, David Norvelle, and is held in the Norvelle’s home. We gather at 7:30 p.m. for a potluck meal, followed by some kind of program or activity. We’ve done everything from book studies and special speakers to movies and games.
In addition to “Camp David,” we have several activities a month that singles may participate in, from singles supper club, a not-quite-monthly event where we try out new restaurants on a Friday or Saturday evening, to activities like going bowling or catching a movie together, to attending a community festival or taking a road trip to see some local attraction like Waxahachie’s “Bethlehem Revisited,” Waco’s Dr Pepper Museum or spring wildflowers.
There’s also an annual Labor Day weekend retreat where we travel outside the Metroplex, check into a hotel, and enjoy fellowship, Bible study, new experiences and bonding with the others on the long weekend get-away. We even have Sunday School together in the hotel on Sunday morning.
If you, too, are a single adult of the “Baby Boomer” generation, we’d love to have you come to any of our activities—Sunday School, “Camp David,” or anything else. Don’t worry about not knowing anyone. You’re just a friend we haven’t met yet, but hope to meet soon.
