Each month we will have a special class to welcome you to our church. You will meet our staff and various leaders in the church. It will truly be a great time of fellowship. Call Linda Worsham at the church office to find out when our next dinner will be and to RSVP. 817.473.1461
Welcome to the Ridge! I hope this section of the most asked questions will help you find the information about becoming and being a new member at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
Call the church office at 817-473-1461 or contact me at linda.worsham@walnutridge.cc if I can answer any further questions you may have.
Thanks - Linda
Q: How do I join the church?
A: At the time of invitation at the conclusion
of the service please come forward and talk to one of our ministers
about becoming a member of Walnut Ridge.
1. You feel led by God's Spirit to make Jesus Christ the Lord of
your life, accepting Him as your Savior.
2. You feel led by God's Spirit to join our church family. You may
ask for church membership by:
(a) A transfer of your church letter if you are currently a member
of another Baptist Church
(b) Stating that you have been baptized as a member of a Baptist
Church
(c) Baptism by immersion, if you are transferring from another denomination.
(d) Your statement that you desire to accept Jesus Christ as your
Savior and Lord, looking forward to a believer's baptism by immersion.
3. As a Christian, you feel led by God's Spirit to rededicate your
life to Christ, acknowledging your need to make a fresh start in
your relationship with Jesus.
4. You feel led by God's Spirit to surrender your life to some type
of Christian vocational service.
5. You feel led by God's Spirit to ask the Pastor for special prayer.
Membership at Walnut Ridge begins with baptism…whether at
a previous church or at the Ridge. The rite of baptism is the heart
of our church. It signifies obedience to Christ by following His
example.
Q: I just joined the church. What do I do next?
A: If you have been baptized, you are ready for more involvement.
If you have not been baptized, you should be contacted soon about
setting a date for your baptism. If you have not been contacted,
feel free to call the church office to set a date for baptism.
Q: How can I be more involved at WRBC?
A: Sunday morning Bible studies offer a great starting point for
being involved at WRBC. The worship Service and Sunday Morning
Bible Studies are the two most important things we do. We are
a large church and it is easy to get lost in the shuffle. Sunday
morning bibles study groups help you to connect with others like
yourself.
Q: I have joined a Bible study class. Can I be involved in other
areas?
A: Yes! There are many ways to find meaningful involvement in the
church. Right away, you can ask your Bible study teacher for ways
to help them reach out to other class members. Do you like to sing
or be involved in drama? Talk to Jud Ladd about joining the choir
or one of the musical productions. People are always needed in service
areas such as ushers and greeters, as well as church fellowship
committee. Check out the "Getting To Know You Survey" to
give us an idea of what you would like to do and where we may be
able to plug you in.
